Unit 4 Loving kindness

After practicing loving kindness the way the exercise asked I must say I truly enjoyed it although I fell short a time or two it was a lot of fun and truly beneficial.  Being an imperfect person I think any time we try to do things nice it is hard because not everyone appreciates it or understands so sometimes we feel unappreciated and it makes it hard. But once you get over the hump that some people are just "happy" being miserable it makes you that much happier and easier to give to those who would/will be thankful.
Mental workout is challenging your mind in ways you typically wouldn't. Caltivate wisdom taking an hour each day to workout the mind doing something stimulating that we normally wouldn't do. By doing this we become well rounded and can truly become well versed as a person.

  1. Charlie,

I agree with you that some people are just "happy" being miserable, but they really aren't happy at all. They are just used to it and don't know another way. I have been surrounded by some of these people a lot of my life and have found that, as I become a happier and healthier person, I am cutting them out of my life more and more. My interactions with them have also changed. I'm trying harder and harder not to get caught up in their misery. I also don't get annoyed as easily with their complaints like I used to. I now feel really sorry for them that they can't seem to see any other way of living.

I like that you called yourself "imperfect". We all are. And, even though we might not get the practice exactly "right on the first try, or ever, see the improvements and changes we can make along the way is exciting. The journey in growth can be the best part about it!
